Addressing Cameroon's Energy Crisis
Only 22% of households in northern regions have electricity access, while over 95% still rely on wood for cooking. The Anglophone Crisis has further exacerbated energy poverty, affecting 580,000+ displaced persons.
Key Statistics
Crisis Impact
Educational disruption affecting 488,656 children in conflict-affected regions, with 2,066 schools remaining non-operational due to lack of reliable power infrastructure. WiseBox addresses this through youth training and local entrepreneurship.
Youth Training and Entrepreneurship Program
WiseBox has trained 100 youths across both English and French parts of Cameroon, providing comprehensive education in solar technology, leadership, climate justice, and clean energy principles.
Training Achievements
Scale and Impact
The training program has created a sustainable ecosystem where trained youths generate income by building and selling WiseBoxes to their communities, resulting in 1000+ total boxes deployed across Cameroon.
